    Panic & brain balance

    Hi,
I would just like to thank all those who replied to my panic attacks & driving post - it was all very helpful advice and its great to find some people who understand.

As I am a new member I don't know whether this topic has come along before, but when I last saw my gynacologist he said that the brain is oestrogen-dependent and as we become older we can become more anxious as the oestrogen supplies diminish. Has anyone else heard of this? I am now on very low dose of HRT and definitely feel better (apart from the driving of course!).

    Thanks

    Izza

Yes I have heard about a soft link with oestrogen before- maybe use the search facility to see if you can find it.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Yes I have heard of that. I had an hysterectomy when I was 37. The gynecologist said that he had left part of one of my ovaries because of my age. He did say the next step was HRT, but because of my medical history he didn't really want to prescribe it. I deffinatley think the low oestrogen has something to do with my anxiety.

I had a blood test to determine if my hormones were an issue and was told all was fine....however now ive found out they change constantly so it doesnt rule out anything :(
