Well that would be a question you should ask your gp but I can tell you that my son was on tegratol and that he had to get blood tests every so often to check his liver and such as it can soak up the meds. I don't know about Neurontin but if it is the same as zarontin - my son was on that too and he didn't have to have blood tests while on it and the side effects were minimal.
