Hi, not sure what to advise really... 5mg works for me. When did you take it? Just before flight? 30 minutes before should give it time to work.

I have taken 10mg - if the doctor has given you enough you could try taking 10mg whilst you're at home, have someone with you, and don't have to be anywhere. Just to see how it affects you.

    Good luck x

Well the fact that you are flying again this year it a positive sign that although you thought that the medication did not work, you are still getting on a plane again.

Maybe you could discuss with your doctor alternatives that might help more?

I am flying a wk on sat and I have had some real panic at the thought of it. So, every day for past couple of wks I have been meditating to try & calm myself down. I have found this very helpfull. I still have some moments of that horrible fear & panic, but it's not as intense or as long lasting as it has been in the past. (not sure how I will be when we actually get on the flight though!!!)

Good luck, and I admire you for booking it & even though you have the fear you are still going to do it!!!

    Re: fear of flying

I would highly recommend a book called "Flying Without Fear" by Duane Brown. The techniques within it helped me in the past. I just wish that the person I lent the book to had returned it (I could sure use it). Am I a fearless flyer now? Definitely no, but I no longer need 3 double gin to get on and more while on the plane.

Having said all that, I am to go on my longest flight ever (10 hours) next week and cannot stop thinking about it. I wish I had the book with me to remind me of the techniques.

    Good Luck to you. Mike
