    Can't Sleep Before Events

    Hi All,

I find it hard to switch off before events.

I have to attend a wedding tomorrow and have had sleepless nights all week with worrying about it. I just worry about the journey to and from, having to be sociable while I'm there, and feeling awful from the insomnia.

Can anyone relate to this and is there anything to help turn off a busy mind and rest properly before an event?

    SB

I have this problem, even if I am waiting for a package or something... my body knows. I've not got any great advice to give as I suffer too, however valerian tea and/or chamomile tea before you're due to go to bed is a good idea. Also the night before the night you're planning to rest, try staying up very late - so you get less sleep, and can sleep more the next night before it.

Hard to switch off I know. It's even worse when you're lying there trying to sleep and thinking further, what I've been told before is to get up at that point and walk around, or watch something, read, listen to something. Distract the mind.

I get this a lot, the jittery feeling that a panic attack could happen. I feel like that right now. :-/
