Is citalopram recommended if you are unemployed

..what I mean is that I spend alot of time on my own in my house... is it a good idea to risk taking with the side effects? I've noticed alot of people say keep busy in order to deal with the side effects but thats not really an option for me at the moment...

    any advice appreciated

    Hi

It doesn't matter if you have a job or not as long as the tablets will help you but you have to be prepared for some side effects which will eventualy lessen too.
All you can do is to try it and see you can always keep yourself busy by chatting to people on here.

I am unemployed and I did find it tough as in my case the side effects made me not want to do anything and because I didn't have to do anything, I didn't! Four weeks on though and I'm through it. I'd definitely give them a go. Expect side effects and roll with them. I found surfing the internet a good distraction.

    Hi sas85,

I'm glad you asked this question because I was wondering the same thing. I'm currently signed off sick from work and live on my own, spend a lot of time on my own, and I was wondering about coping with possible side-effects. Saying that, both of my parents are local and only a phone call away - and yes, there is also this place.

Going for a walk might help too. Especially while the weather is nice. I'm just thinking of the fresh air and change of atmosphere now and then. I find that helps me. Even just a walk to the local shops and back.

Best wishes and hope it helps you.

    Yvonne
