    Medication costs

Just a quick little post on the cost of prescritions.

I went to the doctors today to pick up my prescription for 150mg Sertraline.
They had put it on 2 prescriptions one for 100mg and one for 50mg.

I said that's not fair becuse I'm taking it as one dose. Normally it should all be on one prescription at one cost (£7.20) not on 2 at 14.40! They said it has to be like this because it's 2 different tablets. I said it can't be! I used to be on 30mg Citalopram for about a year and that was a 10 and a 20 and i paid 7.20.
After a while they went on the computer and changed it so it was all on one prescription. This was after I said "well i'll have a prescription for 200mg then and i'll cut them in half and cut half of the halfs in half!"

When you're on medication for Anxiety,Panic and depression it's not fair that they do things like this all the time.

HAs anyone else had this? IF you are paying for 2 packets of tablets that make up 1 dose your doctors/chemist is scamming you.

All this when we really don't even want to take te bleedin things!

    Hi John.
I had the same experience when taking HRT. two different hormones in the same box and I still got charged double!! when I was in the midst of trying different a/d's and benzo's my script bill was thru the roof as I was on so many things.

I used to get 2 asthma inhalers on one precription now they only give me 1!

Why not get a pre-payment certificate - it saves me a fortune on prescriptions
