    Introducing myself

Hi I'm dee. Been suffering from periods of depression/anxiety for a long time now and just starting to slowly recovering from a very bad period of about 5mths by seeking the right kind of help. Thank you for this site, I just read something here that was very encouraging and want to make sure I go to the deep rooted issues and tackle these properly so that I can improve gradually and move one step forward every day.

Wishing you all the best too, dont give up the fight xx

    Re: Introducing myself

Hi , My name is Beth and I've been taking 20 mgs of seroxat for 11 years. Started taking it when I had a huge anxiety/depression breakdown and couldn't cope. I found that , after the initial hell of the drug kicking in , it was a life saver. Over the past 2 years I have been having anxiety episodes again , so feel that the drug isn't really working any more. Decided to come off. I regularly see a herbalist and have shiatsu and I trust both practitioners. My GP suggested that I reduce my dose to 10 mg per day for 4 weeks and that should be ok. My herbalist said 10 mg per day for 4 weeks, then every other day for 2 weeks and every 3 days for 2 weeks. This was in conjunction with taking herbs. I have been off completely for 10 days now. Feeling a bit dizzy, getting brain zaps ( not unbearable) and a bit weepy , but am fine otherwise. I also eat a healthy diet and don't smoke. For people trying to come off seroxat I would really recommend seeing a registered herbalist.
