Honestly, my sanity tends to suffer if I'm not working. I've been at my current place for nearly 13 years, and while it was rough at the start, there's something incredibly helpful about hearing people thank you and know that you can add something to the lives of the people around you.

Re: How Many Of Us Are Able To Work?

I've always worked. But I'm very fortunate that I've been able to work from home since 2012. I initially did it only 2 days a week as that's all my company allowed. But when my anxiety hit, I started doing it more and more and my team was ok with that. I changed jobs within the company in 2017, which allowed me to work from home full time. And I've been doing that ever since.
Now when I think about going back to the office, I don't know how well I would do with my anxiety. But I do need a job mentally. It keeps my mind occupied during the day, which is much needed.

I also work full time. I really like my job, and I'll soon be transitioning into a different job that I think will be more stressful (especially with the learning curve) but I think I'll come to enjoy it as well. And I think I'm lucky to have found a really good, supportive office so this is a good place to be for that learning curve.

I also think I'd struggle more if I didn't have something to keep me busy. I'm hoping when I slip into my new role I can do some at-home work days which will be nice. I also think I'd be in major trouble financially if I didn't work so not working isn't really an option anyway.

Up until I had a child I worked full time, now I work reduced hours.
I think that as much as I sometimes wish I worked less, that it is so much better for my mental health. If I have too long on my own I start to brood.
