catching a bus to somewhere when you don't know the area

Hi,
My problem is i need to catch a bus to go somewhere, but i dont know the area where im supposed to get off the bus.

Im worrying that i might make a fool of myself by getting off at the wrong stop,or if i should ask the bus driver if he could tell me which stop to get off at.
Can any give me any advice about What i should do?

Whenever I'm in your situation I ask the driver to give me a shout when we get to my destination .It always works for me.

When I moved house (a long time ago), i didnt know where to get off the bus either, but the bus driver said he would stop and let me know when i needed to get off.
So when you get on, just explain to the bus driver and ask him if he can let you know.

Oh, public transport can be difficult environment right! Me, I know this experience, what I do is check on the googlemaps where it is, and what landmark is near by, for example a particular shop. Also that you can go on the google 'street view', to see how it looks like there.

Also you can ask the driver, usually they helpful. In my area you can get thing called 'bridge card', which that tells the driver you might need some extra help in some way, so they knows to be helpful. Maybe good to look about to get that if possible. Good luck of your journey.
