Hi Simba. I'm sorry you are having a bad time. If it's any comfort I have been there and you are definitely not alone I rang a few helplines when I was signed off work with anxiety and depression a few weeks ago. I would recommend the following, they were a great help and a comfort to me when I felt lost, alone and desperate:

    Anxiety UK: 08444 775 774 - Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm
    No Panic UK: 0808 808 0545
    SANEline: 0845 767 8000 - Monday to Sunday 6pm to 11pm

Get well soon and take care of yourself,
    Moonlight Xx

    Re: helplines

Well they all helped in different ways:

The guy i spoke to at Anxiety UK gave me breathing exercises, calmed me down, listened and gave me some distraction techniques to try. Also he was an ex anxiety sufferer so understood and was able to offer his take on things and be sympathetic. No Panic is run by sufferers and ex-sufferers of panic and anxiety. I had a nice chat with the guy at the helpline...I think i was speaking to him for over an hour and we discussed how i felt, how he used to feel and he told me his personal ways of dealing with it and what I could do to get on the road to recovery

The lady at SANEline was very comforting and she was very sympathetic. She calmed me down and gave me some advice for getting to sleep. She was very kind and supportive.

They were all really friendly and easy to talk to and I felt a bit better after talking to each of them

    Moonlight Xx

The helplines and the lovely people on them are truely worth their weight in gold, makes you realise that their are kind and thoughtful people out there. My only problem is that I have the phonephobia, so this kind of help isn't much good for me, but I hope it does the trick for those that use it.

    Thanks for those.

I phoned my CMHT crisis line a while ago. They weren't much help

ADMIN: Perhaps this should be a sticky thread with the helpline numbers?
