Question about Propranolol

Hi,

I have been taking Propranolol since January 2009 ( 3 x 10mg daily ) for Missed/Ectopic beats. I also get panic attacks and anxiety.

Some days I get the missed beats for hours on end - and at night - some days only a few odd beats.

My Cardiologist upped my dosage to 3 x 20 mg in January 2010 but it made my heart beat too slow - so he changed it back to 3 x 10mg in March 2010.

I would like to ask how long / how many years do other people take Propranolol for? Will I be on it forever?

I have been taking Propranalol for over a year. I get repeat prescriptions for 3 months then see my doc for a check up. I trust him and he has not suggested that I stop or reduce them. As they help so much, I don't mind how long I take the - I just think of my meds as being like the insulin a diabetic would take. If you are concerned about taking them, ask your doctor what his long term plan is for your meds.
