I got prescribed 50 mg Sertraline

but I took one the day I was prescribed and I didn't like the effects.
Is it possible to halve them? They have a line down the middle so I'm guessing it'd be okay to start on 25mg until a few weeks in?

I take 75mg (I cut a quarter off the 100mg tablet). It can be a bit heavy starting on 50mg - although I didn't have any major side effects - so try taking half for a week or so and see if that helps.

You will get used to it though and I've found it really helpful (well ... better than the rest of them).

I agree, I started 50mg 2.5 weeks ago. The first week was hard but I was expecting much worse (side effects of prozac and citralopram where nasty).

I am know feeling much better - well worth the unpleasant first week.

Well I've taken half of one earlier, will see what happens, hopefully I'll make it to taking the second without getting all the horrible effects I had the first time.
I'm guessing cos I'm taking half of the dose I'll get half of the intensity of side effects or they won't last as long or something? Idk, hopefully it'll be easier to deal with this time.
Anybody else take half 50mg, so like 25mg?

The nausea is horrible and the fact it's given me a really bad headache/migraine just adds to the nausea :( about to take my third. Hope this gets better.
