    Hi Panicdiva

You might find My new self-help group helpful. Ray has just set up a local self help group and may have some tips for you.

It is a great idea and shows such initiative that you are thinking of how to bring this about.

Sounds great and hope it works out for you. I am sure plenty of people from your area will want to join in.

Hi i think thats a great idea. I'm sure you'll get lots of interest. Unfortunately I'm from lanarkshire which is a bit too far from stirling (although I have a friend who lives there, whom I've never visited cos I'm too scared to drive there). Good luck

    Hi there,

If you'd like to ask me any questions about my self-help group, please pm me - be delighted to help you!

I saw this press release from 1998, http://www.scotland.gov.uk/news/releas98_3/pr2725.htm
and noticed it talked of a day facility for adults with mental health problems - does that mean there might be a room you could use there and could the NHS give you any backing.

My group is backed by a Mental Health Resource Centre, and independent organisation funded by the NHS and the council. It has 2 or 3 staff to support various self-help groups. They advertise all the groups at the local health centres which is a big plus, as you need to find your users somehow!

Anyway, feel free to get in touch with me.
