help - red marks in mouth

At the age of 46 i finally had a brace fitted.Ive had this for 3 months now and my teeth are already starting to look better. The only problem is that i keep getting red marks on the inside of my lips, ive got one that ive had for nearly two weeks and it wont heal- im so scared...
Please advise xx

Are you sure this isn't where the brace is rubbing on the lips?

I think it probably is, but this one wont heal even though i have some wax to put on the brace to stop it rubbing.
It has taken me years to find the courage to have my teeth done and now this!!!

I think cuts in the mouth are notoriously bad for healing due to the fact that they never get to dry out and also the foods we eat can irritate them all the time.

You could try some honey on it - supposed to be great at healing cuts etc.
