Please help, are delayed side effects possible?

Hi, I'm new to the forum, never written about myself before....
I'm hoping someone can help, I've been suffering from mad crazy panic and anxiety for months now, really affecting my life (which is brilliant in every other way).
I've started taking Fluoxetine (after trying a few other meds and not getting on with them). I had three really good weeks, then suddenly I'm in a mad panic again. Really disappointed and wondering if this is normal? Is it a side effect of Fluoxetine after so long? Has anyone else experienced this and does it get better?
I'd really appreciate any and all advice, I'm not sure whether to carry on taking it but I'm worried what effect stopping it will have.
    Please help!!

One thing about meds when you first take them is its similar to a rollercoaster ride. You can have good days where your buzzing and you feel the meds have kicked in, and then otherdays you wonder why the hell your taking them. You just have to give them time to work. Im also on fluoxetine and a few months down the track i think they have just about kicked in.. i think?!
