Pregabalin - Sexual Side Effects

Hi Folks,

I appreciate that this is a delicate subject to approach and I do so with a degree of trepidation. But I feel that it is an important topic and that's why I have taken the plunge.

Pregabalin is known to have some common sexual side effects (SEs) according to, for example:

I myself am currently experiencing sexual SEs having been taking pregabalin for just 15 days. I will refrain from going into any detail here but would be happy to enter into a private discussion using the PM system, if appropriate. At the moment, what I'd like to know is:

[1] Do these sexual SEs subside with the passage of time?

[2] If, for whatever reason, I withdraw from taking pregabalin, do the sexual SEs disappear? I would certainly hope so!

Well my sex drive isnt the biggest ever, but then when I wasnt taking them and was just anxious and miserable I didnt want to have sex either!
Is it you've just noticed it because you've been reading the side effects, or can you think back to before you were taking them and realise it was just the same back then?

Changes have taken place in me that could not possibly be attributed to reading about the side effects.

I've had a quick look at the Package Leaflet for Lyrica and can find no mention of anyone undergoing a sex change in the Side Effects section!

Hi JT69,

I guess the choice of words in my post on 3 December have given the wrong impression entirely.

The side effects to which I am referring are listed in the Lyrica Package Leaflet, which is supplied with the Lyrica that I receive from my local Sainsbury's pharmacy. I presume it's the same leaflet that is supplied with Lyrica regardless of pharmacy. It appears to be published by Pfizer, not surprisingly.

The leaflet has a section 4 - Possible Side Effects. The side effects I'm experiencing appear under the 'Common side-effects' and 'Uncommon side-effects' headings.

Hopefully, that's cleared up any mystery.
