yes IMPOTENCE - big time- (hmmm can you have big time impotence?) i have not been on Lyrica for long but defo impotent since starting (at least on 150 BID) dropped to 75 BID things improved- now back to 150 BID - impotent. I'm not sure if it will improve. At the moment the control of anxiety (which is well controlled by pregabalin) outways the loss of potency - my girlfriend has left me so at least i am not under pressure to perform so i was just planning to "sit it out". Side effects hey!! "he giveth and he taketh away" you have to laugh :-)

I just caught your post on this thread - I was wondering why you weren't posting on the other.

Impotence sucks (perhaps that's not the best choice of words, either).

I did a quick check on the web, and it said impotence affects about one in twenty men taking pregabalin, but I strongly suspect impotence is under-reported for specific parts of this group. One study reported that pregabalin-related impotence affected only men over forty - this group would possibly under-report, and as a subset of the total have a higher percentage of ED.

I'm in the over 50 bracket, and pregabalin has knocked my sex drive and performance back a few notches, but not completely. However, when pregabalin was combined with a blood pressure medication I was taking, I didn't have any sexual feeling - just nothing. I've stopped taking that blood pressure medication - the irony is that it was the best medication I've had for blood pressure.

I'd love to have some sage advice to give you, but it's a tough call. Maybe you can get by on the lowest dose. How is the bupropion going? It has a low profile for ED. I'm always the eternal optimist - I suffered 40 years or so of anxiety-related illnesses until pregabalin came along, and I believe there are more anxiolytics under development. It's just that it's years before the best of them come onto the market, and then another decade or so until your local GP decides it's safe to prescribe them (or even knows about them).

Thought it best to resurrect a 2 month old thread rather than start another on the same subject.

I also have sexual side effects from both Mirtazapine and Pregabalin (aren't I lucky).

Mirt causes erectile dysfunction and the Preg causes delayed ejaculation. The latter would be fine if I was 18 and had unlimited stamina but I'm in my 40s

Fortunately my Doc gives me a private prescription for Viagra, which certainly helps, but is very expensive.

Wish they'd allow Viagra on the NHS for people suffering from medication sexual side effects.

Hmmm might be a bit to detailed but I have a very very high sex drive so it would probably do me good lol. I was on Prozac for about 6 months and my sex drive stayed the same but sorry to be blunt, could go on forever :S. not sure if lyrica has the same effect ?

I've found Lyrica delays orgasm. Whereas Mirtazapine causes erectile dysfunction. Lucky me Glad Viagra exists although I wish it were cheaper.

Sorry for reviving old thread but i desperately need a help!

I was taking pregabalin for 3-4 days, and developed impotence and anorgasmia. My dick is dead. Please tell me how long may it last after drug withdrawn? Will my libido come back? I was so ashamed last night... No more pregabalin EVER!

Hi Shaman,

Sorry to read about your sexual side effects - but rest assured that all performance should come back to normal quickly after stopping pregabalin. I can't say how long, but days, not weeks.

Unfortunately, loss of sexual performance is a side effect which affects a number of people but is not given much prominence in the warnings.

Anyone reading this and contemplating taking pregabalin should be warned but not deterred as it does not affect everybody and can be reversed by stopping the medication.

I took my last dose at sunday 21 jan (and before sunday dose i have three days break from pregabalin).

To this date i am still impotent. I cannot got erection strong enough for sexual intercourse, nor achieve orgasm.

Give it a few days, and don't put pressure on yourself. It will come back, I assure you.

i can still get it up , orgsam not so strong but early days , i am 69 so if it was going to alter your sex life a younger guy should be up for it anytime
