    Books on social anxiety and dating/relationships

    Hi everyone

    Im just wondering if anyone knows of any good books that look at social anxiety and in particular dealing with dating and building relationships? Ive noticed a lot of my anxiety comes from meeting men, worrying about what they think of me, getting used by men etc and am hoping there may be books or chapters within books that deal with these issues?

    Any advice would also be helpful, Im really struggling at the moment

    Thanks in advance

    Hi haziefantasie

    Sorry, I can't recommend any suitable books off the top of my head.

    Best advice I can give, is to to try to become the kind of person that YOU would like to spend time with.

    I can't give you any specific advice on how to become less anxious about all the issues you listed, because I always had the same problems, and never really overcame them. It doesn't help when you come from a family that is predominantly female and go to a single-sex school

    Hi,

    If you are a shy person then I would recommend " The Gift of Shyness " by Dr. Alexander Avila.

    Hi guys

    Thanks for all your replies

    @downsinthenorth
    Thanks for the advice, its a shame you have also struggled with these issues, I guess men are a mystery to a lot of women so I know we're not alone! Ive been thinking a lot about things & have decided to focus on myself & try not to worry about my failed relationships too much for now. Ive found some books on improving self esteem & confidence which I think is a good place to start, hopefully they will help

    @mishel
    Thanks for the links, they both look like the may be of use to me in the future
