upper abdo pain since last night

I started with upper abdo pain last night, mostly left sided. Have had it on and off all day, tried gaviscon several times but doesn't seem to be helping. I'm now feeling quite tense and anxious about it, as It's getting nearer xmas and I don't want to be ill over the hols. I know my anxiety is probably making it a lot worse but it seems too trivial to bother my gp with it after just 24 hours. Don't know what to do, am obsessing a out it now. Any one any ideas please?

Don't put off seeing your GP, that's what they're there for almost every time I've seen my GP it's turned out to be for something trivial that went away by itself, but I'm still glad I went and my GP certainly doesn't seem to mind.

If you can get an appointment before Christmas you may as well go along, then it'll put your mind at rest and you can enjoy Christmas. If not, why not give NHS direct a call? Better to get some reassurance about it than to worry.
