    So much to read here....

    Wow! where to begin..
Why do I want to say so much here, but I cannot talk to my own family about this.. Mmmm worrying...

    I am female, 49, married 25 years, 2 children...
Worked full time until 1995, when I lost partial sight in my left eye, everything went down hill after that, various other disasters then 5 years ago I lose the sight in my right eye, I am now registered partially sighted, they have now discovered I have had 3 mini strokes over the last few years, I also have diabetes and ulcerative colitis...

But its the panic attacks, the not wanting to go out feelings, the " I cannot go to far from home in case I need a toilet" is the worst feeling ...

And I am absolutely sure my doctors do not want to know or they do not have the time to talk to a neurotic women and that is why I have been on anti depressants for 11 years...

writing all this down makes me feel better...

    Hi Pat

Welcome to the forum. It certainly sounds like you have been through some tough times and it is so disappointing that your doctors are not taking the panic attacks seriously.

Have you had any therapy to help with the anxiety and panic? Perhaps this is something you could ask your doctor about. Some CBT could be beneficial - have a read of the home pages for details of this.

The following information could also be of benefit:

    bathroom obsessive
    Anyone else in this situation???
    bowels

The charity No Panic run a telephone CBT group which may well help if you find it difficult to get out.

You will find a lot of help and support here.

    Hi Pat

It sounds like you have been through hell. Some doctors are such let downs. Keep pushing until someone has taken you seriously. I know its not easy poting for the first time and probably looking at the time you can not sleep with them, like me.

I am new to the site and have had lots od support already and there are some great tips on here and people who can relate to you and offer advice.

    Wishing you all the best

hi pat. hope we can help, as you can feel very alone if doctors seem uninterested.

i was just wondering had you ever read claire weekes books on nervous disorders the one entitled " essential help for yoyr nerves" is particularly dealing with fears to move far from home etc. you can get the book from the site above and also from good book shops
