Lactose intolerance?

Hi guys,

Just been listening to Radio 5 live with Gaby Logan. She had Dr Hilary on her programme and he was talking about lactose intolerance. Made my ears prick up.

The stomach problems I've had for a while are so similar to symptoms of intolerance, which apparently can occur increasingly with age and mainly only North European and North American people are able to tolerate lactose, which is why few other cultures have it in their diet.

It's worth having the knowledge about, which is why I'm sharing it on this sub-section. Think I'll be cutting milk etc out for a while!

It would be good to hear if anyone else had any experience of this?

Hiya - I'm pretty sure I developed lactose intolerance last year after a series of courses of antibiotics. Giving up drinking milk seemed to be enough for me - I could take it in tea and coffee without symptoms. I think it might have gone away again now. Definitely worth trying cutting out/ down on dairy products for a bit at least x
