Quite pi**ed off at doctors about meds for under 18's

I have mentioned this before on here but by the time I was 18 they had already tried me on 9 different medications, from Prozac to Depakote. After reading about what those can do to the brain (started at 13) I am now quite annoyed at them.

I feel they were irresponsible and reckless. They started me on small doses then increased that to the maximum adult dose quickly.

Depakote, for example, comes with a warning that liver tests need to be run while taking it - they never did that in the 6 months I took it.

    Hi
Wouldn't worry about it. I've been on meds since I was 13 as well, many of which said you needed to be tested now and again and I've never had a test either.

I reckon it's probably a guideline they are quite lax with. They'd know through symptoms you experience if there was anything wrong.

Plus six months isn't very long. I think they probably need to test every six months if they do any testing so they wouldn't have needed to look at you within that time.
