terrified i'll miscarry because of my heart

hi i'm looking for any1 that has been pregnant and managed their palps and thumpin heart?!
i have 2 children but before my heart had any problems, i had an allergic reaction to an antisickness injection cyclazine and ever since i have 15-30 palps a day and walikng up the stairs makes my heart thump so hard i can hear it and see my chest pounding.
anyway after numerous tests and specialists i ended up on bisroplol which helped take away the thumping. i am now 7 weeks pregnant off the beta blockers and my heart is in overdrive i'm really scared i'll miscarry because of my heart

I am sure you will be fine. Ectopic beats/palps are very common in Pregnancy. I have read various posts from pregnant women who had them all the way through.

Have you joined RLR's site? he may be able to reassure you

It is scary and I too hate them. I am having about 20 a minute today

They are just awful and I know just how you feel. I cant remember who called them joy crushers, but they really are. They may not hurt us....but they still scare us.

There is a pregnancy forum somewhere which I found when I first got these while googling. There were tons of the women talking about the skipped beats

Seems not. There is a 92 year old, had them since her 20's and still here and healthy.

The up side is, that when we get them because we lift an arm (my left arm) bend over etc and get them, we can know for sure its the vagus nerve making it happen. Well according to RLR the whole nervous system is involved and the more frightened we are, the worse the palps are.

I get dizzy at times if I have long runs of them

i try to only lift and stretch with right side! i used to get tinnitus jus before a bade turn i've gone to pass out few times but manage to laugh it off telling people i'm waiting for the colour to come back before i move that gets some strange looks ha ha. i could never understand why they got worse when i laughed or am really happy as i was the least worried at those times and the doc said laughing is the same amount of stress as being anxious so we can't win happy or worried lol. i think knowing others are going through the same in a sick way makes you feel much more at ease

I agree, seems you have to be a robot and not have any emotion - the slightest thing makes them happen for me!

I don't think they are harmful though - maybe the stress they cause can have a long term effect. I am determined to beat these things

scatty im on beta blockers atm the moment the same ones your taking and im scared too come off them because it will do the same with me dont no how id cope but whilst on them i cant have a nother baby because it wouldnt be good for the pregnnacy being on them i suffer with crazy beats all the time im so obssessed with my own heart beat too i know how it feels so ill give u a hug .were in similar situation here i have 3 children and my anxiety/panic started after having my 2nd child and symptoms have just got worse im abit better now im on the beta blockers but wud like to be off them because i feel lightheaded alot too dont like feeling this way .but its the only way i can deal with the racy beats and the strange sensations if youd like to talk im here for u ...but you will not loose ur baby through ur heart racing palps do occur commonly in pregnent women because increased blood flow thats when i first noticed them when i was pregnent. try and stay calm do some crosswords and tell yourself everythinks okay and anxiety can do one.xxxxx love chantel

    h
you need to see yojur GP, sort of pronto. I'm not sure about the risk of miscarrage and palpitations, I would imagine its pretty low, given that many many women have palpitation and fine pregnancies. Miscarriage is more to do with the problems with the fetus than with you, although there are of course reasons for miscarriage arising from the mothers health , but i don't think straighforward palpitations is one of them.
However you really need to think about your own health, if you are dirving yourself mad worrying then you need to see your Gp who can give you a proper once over and advise you what you can do, a straightforward relaxation programme may be enough or simply chatting it through may put your mind at rest. What is not a good idea is sitting there and worrying yourself silly.
    Good luck
    Kath
