    Iv sedation on Friday

    Hi
I am due to have my first iv sedation on Friday, at my local dental hospital for major dental treatment . This is because of severe dental erosion due to a choking phobia that I've had for 19 years.
I might have around 4-6 sessions of iv sedation, and I am absolutely petrified!!!!
I really need a hug and support!!!
    Thank you

    Hi Joanne

I have been sedated at the dentist about 5 times now-it is amazing, you dont feel anything at all!! It is honestly nothing to be scared about.

    Sending you lots of hugs

I had my sedation yesterday, and it wasn't as bad as I though it would be. The dentist said I did really well!! I even watched the needle being inserted into my hand, and she said not alot of people could do that. Only about another 4 sessions to go!!

I am having a tooth out under IV sedation tomorrow morning - I am so nervous, even though I've had it done before and know it's nothing to worry about!!

    Re: Iv sedation on Friday

I've been sedated four times now but because I've been so unwell and in and out of hospital for the past 18 months I haven't been to the dentist in a while. Now have a huge hole in my tooth and am getting sedated next Friday. I'm on 50mg sertraline, 15mg diazepam and 7.5mg Zopiclone daily just now so dentist said the midazolam might not work so well this time but he's gonna give it a try. I'm absolutely s****ing myself already, god knows what I will be like nearer the time but I have to either get the tooth filled or extracted.

I will try to be brave like you.

    Re: Iv sedation on Friday

Hi everyone, just a quick update. When I had my iv sedation last Friday, the dentist put like some sort of filling over one of my eroded molar tooth, and it feels wierd, like I've got a false tooth, and I can't bite on my teeth at the back. I can't eat on the other side of my mouth because it's painful to eat on that side. My anxiety is extememly high because all I can manage to eat is weetabix. I've also got a severe choking phobia, which doesn't help!!!
Sorry to whinge. I've been in tears all night.
