    Exclamation Mouldy cake?!!

Hey, I'm just posting here because I'm slightly worried I might have just developed some kind of food poisoning. I at some birthday cake at around 4:30/5pm earlier today. I thought that it tasted absolutely fine at the the time (although perhaps a bit cheap, lol )

However, my mum has only just discovered that there was actually a fair amount of green mold in the middle of the cake. Apparently it was about a week old, and nobody bothered to check that it was ok.

I only had a fairly small slice, and I didn't notice anything at the time. Do you think this might have make me ill because it was moldy? I feel fine now, I think. Maybe a TINY bit queasy, but I'm worrying a bit.

Anybody else eaten moldy cake and been ok? I feel so stupid for not checking. Ah well.

It is highly unlikely that mould will make you ill. Otherwise every time we had a cheese sandwhich we would be thowing up the mould in cheese is same as would be on bread and in cheese.

I have eaten bread that I didn't notice had green mould on it underneath until I tasted it - I have eaten mouldy jam in a cake and again only as I swallowed did I taste the mould and again no after effects at all.

Last week I was given a cup of coffee by a friend and the milk was very off and I took a huge mouthful and it was evil - sour and rancid and when we smelt her milk container the milk was def OFF but again no after effects but it did make me nervous for a few days!

Haha, well I can now confirm that I've felt absolutely fine all day today. No trouble whatsoever. Although saying that I would still strongly advise against the eating of mouldy foods in the future :P Hehe, thanks for all your comments. Much love xxx
