Please help me, Obese and having palpitations!

I'm 28 female and weigh 20 stone! I've suffered with anxiety and depression since I was 14. I'm taking 20mg of escitralopram a day. I've been doing so well with my anxiety and panick attacks however last few days I've been having palpitations frequently, noticing it many times a day :( it's really scaring me! I'm freaking out that because I'm over weight I've hot heart disease or gonna have heart failure :( please help me...

Hi, if this is the first time youve had palpatations with anxiety and panic then Id advise you to see your Gp. Any new symptom must be discussed with your Gp to rule other possibilities out. Try to stay calm, the palps are worse now because you are focusing on them. Anxiety makes them worse. Being overweight isnt a pre-courser for heart disease, although losing weight will produce lots of health benefits for you. Try and go about your daily routine with the palps, thats what I do. Ignoring them as a part of anxiety really helps. Hope you feel better soon. x
