My doctor has prescribed me Fluoxetine for depression (20mg once a day). I have only taken two doses so far but today I feel very nervous, on edge and anxious (also can't stop itching, can this be related to anxiety?). This is unusual for me as I although I am normally anxious and worried I am sleepy and fatigued; today I cant sit still. Is it possible for this to be a side effect so soon?

Hi Marie,
it could be side effects mine kicked in pretty quick when I started it also it could be because your nervous about having side effects. Try not to worry about it cause it will make it worst ethier way. You'll be fine, just remember it takes a while to get into your system properly.

Hi, i've been on 20mg per day for a week now (im using it as a way to get off venlafaxine)
I too have had very itchy skin, and also extremely dry flaky skin on my neck. My gp said this isnt uncommon, and should wear off within a week or two.
Not that i intend to be on it that long though.
