    recording of session

    hi folks

seeing a psyciatrist at mo and i have been informed that she wants to record the session for the purpose of her manager checking to see if she is doing a good job as she said that they have to answer to people above and with her being a trainee it could be useful for advice.
is this normal?she has told me to only say my first name on the recording.

    thankyou

I think this is fairly common - the counsellor I went to offered recordings of sessions that could be downloaded, so that you can lissten to your session again (which can be very useful for some people).

Also as far as I understand, all counsellors have to have a mentor throughout their career, which means that their practice is reviewed regularly.
