Coming off the pill and period cycle

Hi

I have just come off the pill after over 6 years of being on it, was on Cilest. My first cycle seemed to be 25 days, the next was 20 days and now have come on today which only makes 17 days, is this normal and how long does it take for your cycle to return to normal. Help appreciated as don't want to be worrying about it.

Hi, i think it'll take a little while for your body to get used to being off the pill and that's why your cycle is changing. I've just stopped my pill (after 9 years) so I bet mine will be a bit all over the place for a few months! I only stopped my last Monday x

It can be irregular after coming off the pill. If you are experiencing heavy bleeding consult your Doctor if it's light it is likely due to your hormones adjusting and such. Continue to monitor your cycles. 17 day-20 day cycle is not normal, make sure you count the first day of your cycle as the first day of your period.

thanks let me know how you get on punk princess. Its not heavy bleeding at all infact the whole period tends to just last 3 days. I am going to monitor it and see what my next period is like and length and assume i will get into a routine after about 6 months.
