    1 week off

    Hi All

I have been off Citalopram for 1 week now after doctors advice that I should reduce my dose to every other day for 1 month, then stop completely.

I was on 20mg a day and I was just wondering how other people felt after being off the tablets for a week? I read about brain zaps, dizziness, vivid dreams and stuff which I have suffered from but I was expecting it. After 1 week I am still getting them and also feeling very sleepy come mid afternoon.

Should this continue for another few weeks or will it stop soon? I feel ok in myself and not depressed, just light headed and sleepy most of the time!

    Re: 1 week off

Hi, when I first came off citalopram, I had the same symptoms as you which lasted about 3 weeks for me. All though my doctor got me to come off them in a week rather than a month, which i think was much too quick, so that may make a difference to how long the withdrawal symptoms last. I've recently started taking them again now, I will definitely be coming off them much slower this time.
