awaiting x-ray results...anyone there?

Hi there

I'm pretty new here and posted my particular health anxiety in the introduce yourself section. anyway, I suppose if you click on my username you can read it (I do go on a bit - sorry) but I'm anxiously awaiting chest x-ray results and have convinced myself it's going to go bad. anyone there to offer some reassurance?

Hi - I was convinced, totally and utterly convinced that my scan results were gonna bring bad news...I was on my last walk to the hospital earlier. Turns out my scan showed a healthy person inside (and doc said I looked healthy on the outside too). Please please be calm as we always fear the possible worse outcomes and I bet 99% us worriers have nothing healthwise to worry about.

I guess I'm pretty pessimistic by nature but this has really thrown me. Maybe it's because I smoked and that my chest pain came on so suddenly that's scared me. Still, I've stopped and the Doc was confident that I'll be OK. He only sent me for the x-ray to reassure me which is ironic as the waiting is driving me crazy! It's been about 10 days but I like to think someone must have looked at the pictures and if it was really serious they would have got in touch with me by now.
