Headaches on venlafaxine

Hi just wondered if anyone else has bad headaches on venlafaxine ?? I take 225mg a day at the minute !!

I never really got headaches with it and I was on a silly high dose. Might be worth asking your doc to try you on a different anti-depressant, there are a few SNRI's they could switch you to like Desvenlafaxine or Duloxetine.

The other thing worth trying, if you aren't on it already, is the "XL" version which is timed release so a bit smoother on your body.

The purpose my pdoc prescribe me efexor is mainly for my chronic tension headache.
along with Mirtazapine, which is "off label" use for tension headache.

But I didn't find it effective, until he switched it to Tramadol.

Tramadol works almost similar like effexor, both are SNRI, with Tramadol has analgesic action and efexor doesn't.

Yeah...I think everyone reacts diffrently to even the same medication.

I am now given Efexor XR again, 150mg twice a day.
To take with breakfast, and lunch.

I am still on Mirtazapine 90mg, and clonazepam2mg.


I notice everytime I wash my hair, it just fall off.


Has anyone notice hair loss while on Effexor XR?
