Cold-like symptoms before and after period?

    Hi,

Has anyone else noticed that they get cold symptoms before and/or after their period? The glands in my neck swell up some, dry, achy throat, even some congestion. This happens almost every period to some varying degree and will last a few days. I hate it because it seems like 2 weeks out of every month I feel sick. I haven't a clue to what it could be. I'm terrified, but am really trying to stay away from Dr. Google so as not to make it worse.

    Thanks so much.

It's funny you should post this because my period is due in the next couple of days and I'm sitting here with a sore throat trying not to panic that I have a low immune system because of... blahblahblah.

But having read that, it's made me think. Perhaps I get that too. I've always suffered with a bad throat and the more I think about it, the more I think it could occur around my period. I shall start monitoring!

I'd try not to worry too much, if I were you. If it happens around every period I'd imagine it's just you - my period always upsets my stomach; I think everyone is affected differently!
