    Long term use of Cipralex

    Hi All

Not posted in a while, I have been on 10mg of Cipralex for the last three years, which has helped in keeping things under control.
This year has been very stressful, my dad had a massive stroke at home last August and I have managed to keep things on an even kiel, despite certain peoples best efforts to do otherwise.
Anyway my main question is that is there any reported effects of long term use of Cipralex?
I have received a letter from my GP to see her next week to discuss the meds, but I have recently started with a pains and aches in my knees, which I will discuss with her.
Could it be associated or is it just wear and tear and old age creeping up.
    Regards
    Mike

My mum has been on them for quite a few years with no sign of any ill effects. The doctors probably just want to review as it has been a while or possibly to try and change you onto Citalopram as they are cheaper than Cipralex.

I wouldn't think the aches and pains are related.

    Best wishes

I have been on cipralex for a little over a year and I too was having aches and pains that I was suspecting were related to the medication, but now that it is summer here in Canada, the aches have somewhat abated, so I am thinking it is unrelated and this point. (probably age . . . . )

I think also I need to get more exercise, which should help with the aches.

Other than that, I starting taking Cipralex at about 4 in afternoon , which has combated the drowisness problem I was having in the mid afternoon.
