Petechiae

I think my health anxiety is slowly getting better. I used to be obsessed with the petechiae (small pin prick blood red dots) on my arms and thought I had cancer or something equally as terrifying. Now I've realised that loads of people get these and I'm (probably) NOT dying. Yey! But today I noticed around 7 more appear on my arm all of a sudden. I don't look for them anymore. I swear they weren't there this morning and I noticed them about an hour ago. Today I dyed my hair and I also used a sponge and scrubbed pretty hard at my arms. So could either of these cause the little marks to appear so quickly. I'm just looking for a little reassurance, even though I'm not in full panic mode like I would have been a month or so back.

A few years ago I kept getting a lot of petechiae on my legs, but we never found out why. My bloodwork was normal, and eventually it just went away. My toddler daughter had petechiae on her tummy recently, and her bloodwork was normal too and it also just went away.

You're right, a lot of people get this from time to time. Also, scrubbing your skin can cause it too, like you said.
