hi, just wondering how many of you suffer with mucus in your stool with ibs.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

thanks nicola,
I've had mucus on and off over the years but i'm going through such an anxious time just now and mi ibs has been bad for the last 6 weeks or so, alternating between loose, normal and hard bowel movements. Lots of wind and gurgling in my stomach with an uncomfortable feeling under my left rib. The mucus appears when i'm straining. Have completely convinced myself that i have bc. Ever day is a nightmare just now.
Yes I do, sometimes I think I have a dodgy tummy when it's actually mucus, not nice and haven't a clue why sometimes I get it and others I don't?
i'm such a mess right now, went to the toilet a while ago and had a bm, when i wiped i saw something red mixed in with the stool. I had pasta and a tomato sauce yesterday so don't know if thats what i'm seeing but i'm in a panic. Called to speak to my gp but she's out on an emergency, waiting for her to call me back. God i'm so scared.
If you saw blood in your stool it is unlikely that it would be bright red unless it was smeared on the outside of it from piles. Actually in your stool and the digestive processes would change that apearence of the blood.
Also a small amount is of no concern at all.
hi,
I definately did'nt see anything coating the stool. I'm just really anxious at the moment and i always imagine the worst possible outcome. If there was blood in the stool would it definately not be red?
can anyone else help calm me down? My gp was supposed to call but she did'nt. God i hate this.
tomatoes cannot be digested so would appear in the stool
