When i went to gp bout month or 2 ago about anxiety i asked if i have to go on meds can i have efexor as was fine on them before, apart from feeling like i was on speed for few days!!
she said no, i wouldnt put you on them. wonder why??

I take Effexor for anxiety and find it does help ,however I have come off this med twice and it is hard .
The first time I did this I had really weird sensations in my head and thought I was going mad plus the anxiety was worse. The second time I did it more carefully and weaned myself off them very slowly and I didn't feel too bad. But I am back on them again and I sometimes feel that I am addicted to them even though my doctor says they are not addictive. Maybe this is why your doctor was reluctant to put you back on them.

I didnt struggle coming off them at all. I had the weird sensations tho which loasted ages but faded away x

Hi april tones,

I had a similar situation...had to go back on medication and although I had been on cipralex before and found it worked well my GP said he wouldnt put me back on it and prescribed lofepramine. Like you I dont know why.
