Adding Citalopram to Mirtazapine

I have been taking Mirtazapine for the past seven weeks now - I only felt good on it for about 3 weeks and I have now gradually gone down hill. I was thinking of asking my GP if she could prescribe a small dose of citalopram to take alongside the mirt.
I tried citalopram a long time and found I couldn't tolerate it due to severe insomnia. But if I can take a small dose of mirt at night that should sort that problem out.
I would be grateful for any feedback regarding this.

Some people in this forum are on both and consider it a good mix. See what your GP says (as someone posted recently their GP said not to mix them, another GP said it was OK!!).

Thanks for your response Ingenious. I will discuss it with my GP. The other med I may ask about is pregabalin. I know a few people on this forum use it with mirt. Someone said to me today that because my main problem is anxiety I should try pregabalin first. I'll see what the doc says.
