It's a case of 'body not allowing alcohol anymore' P.

Fibro, chemical sensitivity, hormone imbalance? I don't know. All I know is, half a glass of alcohol and I'm in bed for the next few days.

I rebelled last year when they were showing old Glastonbury concerts on TV. This particular night was The Cure's 2019 set (I think?) so I came over all rebellious and had a couple of single malt whiskies. BIG mistake! I think I went into some kind of coma for a week?

I miss it though. I miss a decent pint. Used to love Sneck Lifter but it made me and Hubs argue lol Granted, the air was foul when me and Hubs had been at the real ale (and curry) but it's not so bad when you've both been at it, right?

Apparently gin (and white alcohol in general) has the least amount of histamines so I might 'experiment' with half a glass one day and see how I go, but I'm not a big fan of gin. Mum used to get a case of the 'sads' when she'd been at the gin...

Ah, wasn't aware it was a biological thing. Mea culpa.

Funnily enough a mate of mine mentioned Sneck Lifter the other day. Jennings are owned by Marston's now.

It wasn't called "Mother's Ruin" for nothing, Nora - it's oh-so-bloody-fashionable now though, isn't it? All these hipster names you've never heard of chucking fruit, flowers, wellington boots and God knows what else into the mix - hell, there's even a heritage railway running a gin-tasting train now!

    And of course...

Always worth comparing with Hogarth's other famous drawing, "Beer Street".

Wow, I can sense an epic booze-up in this thread tonight!

    Why not, the weather's fab.

All beware of mega-hangovers tomorrow morning!

    (I'm a teetotal BTW).

I've lways been partial to a gin with lemon squash.
Very refreshing on a hot day.
My mother used to call it Mothers Worry

    Waaaayyy ahead of you.

4 Jaipur IPA’s, 2 Tiny Rebel imperial stouts (11.5% ABV for those who doubt my manliness) and somehow managed to sneak in a Duvel Belgian Ale all in one session.

Oh, and I had two slices of pizza.

But yeah, tomorrow is genuinely going to consist of water and paracetamol in order to feel like an actual member of our species.

Apparently, the term 'Dutch courage' comes from men in the Dutch army being given gin before going to battle. Gin has a lot of health benefits too, when taken in moderation..

I am (was) a beer and whiskey girl. You can keep ya stuff that looks like mouthwash.

Only two slices of pizza? I'd have had a serous case of the munchies! I'd have been raiding the fridge, cupboards and bin! (not really the bin, I has standards)

Great to read about people enjoying themselves..I hate all the "can't have this, can't have that" stuff and why not indulge in the stuff you enjoy..
