Switching meds. Feeling so irritable

Hello all

I've recently switched from escitralopram 20mg to fluoxetine 20mg. I am on day 9 and feel awful. So irritable and like I have the shortest fuse. I feel like I want to cry at the slightest thing and feel so sad in general. I'm wondering if this is withdrawal symptoms from coming off the escitralopram or side effects of the fluoxetine. I'm just hoping that these feelings don't stay. I'm on this mainly for anxiety. But worried these meds might not suit me especially with feeling so angry.

Any experience would be greatly received x

I remember feeling that way when I came off Zoloft. I think it's part of withdrawing from the med. completely normal.

I have been on fluoxetine for around 8 weeks now, i was in hell with the side effects for the first 4 weeks, then gradually things started to get better, week by week i noticed improvement, its very slow working, and one of the main side effects is anxiety, its mad i know, but once you get through it you will see the benefits.
Have a look at the timeline for fluoxetine by better days, it will give you a better understanding.
