Food is great one of the biggest causes of rapid heart rate and once it starts if you are remotely prone to anxiety/panic disorders then it goes into overdrive.
Drink cool water and try (ha ha) to relax.
Eat smaller meals and make sure you sit up and not slumped in a chair when you eat.

That all makes sense. This time I had an empty stomach though. Maybe low blood sugar played a role.

Yes that can also cause it, dehydration is also a big culprit so think how much water you drink and you will find it's not enough, cut down on cafine as well

Does it sound like afib? Suddenly I’m terrified that’s what it is. But when it happens my hr is regular. And again, the ekg showed nothing. But also, I had calmed down a bit before that.

Fast heart rate is THE most common symptom of anxiety.

Going down the black hole of looking for reasons, rare complications, fixes, cures and other causes is the road to even more anxiety.

It is what it is, let it be, let it pass. To overcomplicate things is a guarantee of making things worse. Treat the underlying anxiety, not each and every symptom.
