Bruise under toe nail?

Just googled bruised under toenail - and wish I hadn’t.....I think it’s been there a couple of months?

I don’t remember injuring it either. Could this be a mole? Or should I just watch it for a while and see what happens?

There is a very good blog online which is run by a GPwsi Dermatology. Although his blog is aimed at health care professionals, he has stated on it that a mark on the nail like you describe is NEVER melanoma if it is clearly separate from the proximal nail fold (nail bed)

Thank you - still worried but I’ve left it too late to go to the go now as going away and I guess I’d have to wait for a referral now anyway. Will go first week of January if it’s still there

Toe nails don’t really grow that fast... It could be from a simple bruise. I had the same happen to me and it took almost 3 months for it to disappear.
