We were issued with a severe weather warning this morning and told to expect a severe storm coming to Ireland from the South East. There will be very heavy rain and strong winds. However, when I switched the television on this morning, the news reader said it could be as bad as Hurricane Charlie which we endured in 1986.

I remember only too well how scary that was. They say it is going to be the worst in the South and East. I am in the West of Ireland but it is still very worrying. I worry that our garden shed may take off or worse still, parts of our roof. I am by myself all day and don’t even have a phone if anything happens as it has been cut off.

We usually lose power in a bad storm, but at least my other half will be home before dark and can buy some candles if that is the case. There might be thunder and lightning too. It’s going to be a tense day. I hope everyone stays safe.
