    CT Scan (really scared)

Just had my letter through to say I need a chest CT scan done on 13th Sep.
It’s not the scan that worries me at all, I’m fine with that. But it said ‘with contrast’ and that’s what I don’t like. I have a major fear of medicines (I haven’t even taken a head ache tablet for around 17 years!!).
I’ve already called the hospital to ask if the scan can be done without contrast and the lady said she’s unsure and I’d have to discuss this with the radiographer on the day. The thought of them putting a needle in my hand/arm and feeling warm liquid going around my body (that’s what I’ve read) just totally freaks me out.
Has anyone had a chest CT scan without contrast?

Not without contrast, but I did have a ct scan with contrast. It was not bad at all.. nothing... zip.
My son had one almost 4 weeks ago with contrast, same thing, no problem at all.

    Stay. Off. Google.

Just had my CT with Contrast yesterday. The procedure was no problem, other than getting the IV started in my hard-to-find veins, but even that wasn't so big a deal. The hard part is waiting for the results. No need to fear the procedure. itself.

Ct scan with contrast isn’t that bad. It is weird feeling though!! Going through your veins is strange.

Apparently they are common. I know multiple people who have them, including my brother. He gets them checked but it's been years and years and... nothing.
