Thread: EMDR?....

    EMDR?....

    EMDR. Anyone know what that is? A friend suggested it might help, I asked if that was the colander type thing thats stuck on your head, with loads of wires hanging out....? She said no, its something to do with earphones, and beeps? Lol.... dont have a clue, does anyone else know? Has it helped anyone?

    EMDR is usually used for post traumatic stress disorder. It is a technique used to disassociate bad memories from traumatic feelings. You are basically reprogramming your response to these memories. EMDR usually works within a handful of sessions.

    I had this therapy. It was developed for Nam Vets after the war. It's very relaxing, but I didn't have PTSD so all I can say is, it was relaxing
