Spotting instead of period?

Hi all. So, I had some spotting on day 19 and 20 of my cycle. It's usually 28 days or so. My period is now late by 9 days. I will taken 2 pregnancy tests, both negative and my husband has had a vasectomy so I'm not pregnant.

I'm spotting again right now and I thought it was my period coming as I always spot for a few days before it comes. Today it's changed to being a lighter color probably meaning it's not turning into a period.

Can stress give you a super light period or cause spotting? I've just been through a bad anxiety bout because I thought I might be pregnant when this all started. Now I'm wondering why my period isn't coming!

I can feel the anxiety creeping back in. I've been to the doctor who didn't seem concerned at the time. I was a week late then. Any thoughts?

Yes, this has happened to.me and I asked my gynecologist about it. She told me it's normal as long as the next one is normal

Thanks for replying. I'm figuring my body is all screwed up now due to the stress I put myself through. Hopefully things even out.

If you dont mind, how old are you? If in 40s -50 you could be going through perimenopause
