Has anyone else started sertraline at 12.5mg?

I just wondered if anyone had started sertraline st a low low dose to combat side effects?
Long story short I’ve had to go back On sertraline due to anxiety creeping back up on me and I can’t hack the side effects that 25mg gave me all over again so have cut the tablet into a quarter to try that way for a while.

Hi Gemsi. I have been on sert a few times and I always start very low as low as 6.25mg and add 1/8 of a pill every for 4-5 day. It helps me with the side effects - even if I still experience them mostly the hightened anxiety, insomnia and GI problems. The first time I took straight 50mg following my doc advice and it was horrendous. Good luck
