Mark, have not noticed anything changing in the libido/male department or did it not effect you?

I have noticed a big difference in my libido.
On 20mg my erections were few and far between, and when I did get one it wouldn’t be that hard. Also, climaxing was rare, as the Citalopram really dulls the sensation.
On 10mg there’s a big difference, it’s much better and I now have more of a desire for sex and climaxing is easier.

80 days on 10mg.
Still feeling ok, I’ve had no bad spells at all.
I was 14st on 20mg, I am now 12st.
Going to take 10mg and 5mg on alternate days.
Be care full with the alternate days...
That's when the poop hits the fan..when folks start doing the alternate days...
I’m just starting to reduce from 30 mg Citalopram. I’ve been on them for 16 years at various doses but 30 mg is the most I’ve taken (for the last 20 months). I’ve come off them during the time since I started all those years ago and was off them for a couple of years. I never completely lost all the side effects during those years but they have been manageable.
I’m now on my second dose of 25 mg and will stick with this for a month or two. My aim will be to gradually decrease to 20 mg then possibly remain on a maintenance dose of 10mg and see how I get on. I know that reducing very slowly is the best way to do it. Let your body adjust to the new dose.
I’ve always found reducing easier than increasing a dose as I was terribly ill with each increase. I hope that whatever you are doing - just starting or weaning off - you are managing the changes well. Be kind to yourself. Don’t be your own worst enemy. Take care
Alternating days puts your brain in a constant yoyo state of withdrawal. It's better that you drop by the same amount for the same period of time so your brain/body can adjust naturally and expect the same drop in dosage the next time.
Example scenario:
I decrease by 5mg and take the reduced dose for 4 weeks. 1 week to allow the brain/body to adjust. 1 week to stabilize on the new lower dose. 2 weeks to see how the body/brain like it [or not]. If I feel ok after 4 weeks, repeat [drop by 5mg, take the lower dose for 1 month].
Dear mark ...I can't believe you been going thru this drama since 2011...don't you think it's a bit long...to come off but only to come on...isn't your brain tired?
Good luck with this. In my experience the slower the taper the better to give my brain a chance to settle. Am going to give each taper 6 weeks before the next, because otherwise it takes its toll on me, i find withdrawal exhausting. My doc says i am extremely sensitive to meds. Keep going and go with it, and look after yourself.
Nearly four months on 10mg, still feel great.
