    day 4 part 2

so perhaps i totally jinxed myself.. crippling anxiety all the way to work, then anxiety for the first hour or two of work. so bad, warmth radiating all over my body, massive headache and felt like i wanted to cry.

i stuck it out though and I'm ok now.

when is this anxiety going to go awayyyyyy

Hang in there ... I have to admit it was hard working and starting up. I worked full time each time I started lexapro. This is normal though. It took a month or so until I felt better, but it was soooo worth the wait. Try to remind yourself of that.

so a little update, after my day 4 update i went to work and had some severe anxiety.

    day 5 -

woke up in severe anxiety during the night. took a lexotan 3mg and went back to sleep to wake up 4 hours later with more anxiety.

i rang work and explained my situation and in fairness - they were super helpful and understanding. I'm only on half days for the next few weeks which is a worry off my mind.

i went out for the lunch and felt pretty ok - just exhausted from not sleeping.

one thing which i noticed a lot today - i have zero appetite. like zero. i had to literally force myself to eat which is not nice.

Just popping in to say, well done. I'm on escitalopram, and it took maybe six weeks, before I noticed an improvement. I found my energy was gone, when I first started the meds, but I switched to taking them at night, and that helped.
Glad you have the half days, and that work were understanding to you. I used to find I was exhausted, maintaining a 'front', at work, that all was well.

All the best, and take good care of yourself.

might try some simple yoga/breathing and stretches and incorporate my mindfulness practice into it too.

    day 5 -

overall a very good day. tummy symptoms are definitely easing off. was super happy all day long - only one of two waves of anxiety which went just as fast as they came. was actually super productive today and got a lot done around the house.

feel like i am looking at things more positively and not everything is clouded with fear which is a welcome change!

I was wondering how long it took anybody to get through the Lexapro withdrawals. My GP told me to stop cold turkey after being on the med for 8 + years. It has been 4 weeks since my last dose and I still feel terrible.

thats crazy, and actually dangerous to stop cold turkey. the best way to taper off (I've done it before and this is what my GP said) was to reduce as slowly as possible over the course of weeks. I think I did mine gradually over 2 weeks, going from 10 to missing a day, to 10, to 5, to missing a day etc ect

hope you're feeling well soon x

i kind of feel like crap today. like physically i feel well, but mentally I'm just tired and lazy and unmotivated. such a change from yesterday. i wonder if thats a thing, like good days and bad days when you're starting lexapro?

I'm going to go out tonight for a few hours and see does that change things.

Definitely. It can be a roller coaster starting any ssri, so it's good you are pushing through. Keep going, it will even out with time.

I don't know how much you're taking but I stopped cold turkey after taking 10mg for 5 yrs.
Had head zaps for a couple of weeks then all back to normal.
I had no side effects when I started it either.

[QUOTE=swgrl09;1483047]Lexapro really did change my life for the better. I had some side effects, trouble sleeping, etc but all passed within a few did wonders for me too.
I started on 5mg for 2 weeks then went up to 10mg.
No side effects and great results.
Came off it cold turkey after 5 yrs because I just didn't need it any more.
