Sertaline side effect?

I took a sertaline tablet last night before bed. I have just woken up needing the loo and had two lots of diarrhoea. This was my first tablet in a year. I feel a bit sick but worried that the diarrhoea has come out of the blue. I went to the gp yesterday due to my HA worries and had a bad day anxiety and stress wise where all I did was worry (and I missed dinner) hence starting the medication.

Diarrhoea is a sertaline side effect, so does it seem likely that this is why I have the diarrhoea? My HA is telling me that it is something worse 😢

It will likely be a side effect of sertraline as it is a listed side effect. The side effects can be a little bit rough when first starting but don't worry, it won't last for long your body just needs to adjust to the medication
